Write a 4-5 page paper (Plagiarism Will Give you a 0.0 Grade)
The purpose of the Paper is for you to determine if the prices at one retail establishment are lower or higher than another retailer. You will need to compare the prices of at least 45 items (minimum sample size) at two different retailers to see if there is a statistically significant difference between the prices of the two retailers.
Your Paper will consist of:
Paper (4-5 pages not included title and reference pages, word document APA format)
•Properly Stated Research Question - 20 points
•Project Introduction - Tell Us About Your Project - 25 points
•Methodology Used - This is why you chose the test you did - 30 points
•SPSS Test Results - Copy and Paste From SPSS - 20 points
•A minimum of TWO SPSS Graph for Variables - 20 points
•Explanation/Summary of Your Results - 35 points
•A Summary in Your Own Words of the Exercise - what did you learn from this project - 10 points
For an outline of the project, follow the Steps in the Process of Hypotheses Testing that is discussed in Chapter 15 of the Ravid and Haan text. Please explain in your paper how you calculated your statistical test. The calculations are to "only" be conducted by using SPSS software and the results must be included in your Final Project. I would like for you to include in the paper two graphs for your variables/results and a brief explanation of why you chose the two graphs you did.
Explain the scenario.
Which two organizations’ prices are you going to compare and why?
State your null and alternative hypotheses.
Explain why you chose your hypotheses.
If you use a directional hypothesis you must explain your basis for using a directional hypothesis.
You need some support for why you think one organization’s prices are higher/lower than the others.
Method
Explain in detail the method used to conduct the study: Detail account of the tests - breaking the information down so the average person reading your study could say, "I understand what these numbers and tests are saying"
How did you choose your sample?
How did you choose your organizations for the study?
How did you actually collect the sample?
Which statistical test did you use and why? Why not use a different test?
At what level of significance are your testing your hypotheses and why?
What were the results of your statistics test?
Report:
Descriptive Statistics: Sample size, mean, standard deviation for each group.
T-test information: if you can use Equal Variances, t-score, degrees of freedom, mean difference and sig. level
Are you rejecting or not rejecting the null hypotheses level?
Discussion of Results == Explanation/Summary of Your Results
What do your results mean? What you learned from conducting the study?
What will you report to your client/boss/whomever?
How did your results compare to your alternative hypothesis? Explain why the results were or were not consistent with your expectations
Paper Writing Requirements (APA Formatting)
4-5 pages, not including title page or references
Times New Roman, 12-point font
1-inch margins
Title page
References page
Double-spaced pages
The best papers will expand upon (when comparing prices of data) in the Introduction Section perhaps each of the organizations pricing philosophy. There is a wealth of information out there on publically traded companies and their pricing approach for their products/goods. The best papers will have "two" graphs and within the Analysis Section will make reference to what each is telling the reader. The best papers will take time in the Summary Sections to suggest to their readers what they learned from the conducting the study. And, lastly the Methodology Section will have a detail account of the tests - breaking the information down so the average person reading your study could say, "I understand what these numbers and tests are saying" - don't write your paper for me - I know the tests and understand what the F, t, ANOVA, SD test's results are - your paper needs to touch those readers who do not know statistics, but want through your research question they want to know the findings of your study. If you have a test and don't explain it w - I will need to count off points for each test with no explanation. Make sense?
