· You are required to address the following required questions in third person narrative and essay format in third person and to analyze the relationship of the current event to the course topic that it correlates to within the chapter of the text you have selected for your study. The focus must be on parallel points to demonstrate a comparison of past and present. Do not select a topic that does not allow for that. Remember, your cover page and list of references do not count as part of your word count.
· DO NOT answer the questions individually. Rather, provide analysis in essay format and address all required questions as they are interconnected and should be approached accordingly. DO NOT include the questions in your narrative.
Required Essay Questions:
· what specific topic is under discussion ? (note--you are required to formally introduce your article by name and author within the text)
· why did you select the article ? and the topic
· how does it specifically relate to our class ? the selected chapter ? what parallel points can you provide ? what comparisons ? between past and present ?
· what is your position on the topic ? do you agree ? disagree ? why ? support your argument and position with factual evidence from both our assigned text and the article contents you have selected to use for the essay.
· Third person is required
· Be sure to provide specific and detailed and direct points of comparison and connection between the article and our class topic using the text of the article and our assigned textbook to support your points of focus
· Be sure to make parallel points based on documentation from the article and the text book assigned for our class
· Be sure that your analysis is central. Direct quotes should support but not replace your analysis. As a rule, no more than 20% total of your text should ever be direct quotes. It is your analysis and interpretation in your own words that demonstrates your quality of understanding of this or any topic
· Be sure to use clear and concise sentences
· Be sure to use appropriate tone for the content of the assignment
· Be sure to clearly state major points and support your points with specific details, examples and analysis
· Be sure to organize your analysis logically
· Be sure that your analysis is accurate, factual, comprehensive and persuasive
