Local Campus Network Part 2
The South Dakota Campus has the capabilities to network across the campus by providing services to their students and employees. The campus is currently using Cisco 3500 Routers and cisco switch; which enables them to provide access in each department. After carefully investigating and checking all possible sources the product number Cisco 3500 routers, from the hardware information that was given,Team C was not able to locate valid results. Therefore, the teamis going to assume that there are no errors with the model number. The only suggestion is to make a change with the router; it should have been Cisco 2500 series router rather than Cisco 3500.Cisco 3500 series are normally switches that were released in the early 2000's. The following switches often connect the access point to the routers.
After troubleshooting the physical layer of the OSI model. We have moved on to the network layer where we have noticed the route cause of the problem. The network speed of the Cisco router needed to be increased due to the amount of users that have access to the network at one time. Team C immediately went into the network configuration settings and increased the speed to 100 Mbps. Following that process, we noticed that students and employees were now able to gain access to the online classroom within a few seconds as opposed to twenty minutes.
