The researchers randomly divided 52 patients into two groups. The 26 patients in group #1 had their warts treated by applying duct tape for 1 week and removing the tape for 12 hours. After which, this process was repeated over two months. The 26 patients in group 2 had their warts treated with liquid nitrogen applied to the wart for 10 seconds every 2 weeks for a maximum of 6 treatments. It was determined that 85% of group 1 (22 out of 26) and 58% of group 2(15 out of 26) had complete success with wart removal. The researchers concluded that duct tape is more effective than the conventional treatment.
