PowerPoint Training Presentation Instructions

Prepare a PowerPoint presentation wherein you will design an interagency interdisciplinary course of instruction. Design the presentation for entry level first responder employees who would not be very familiar with homeland security and emergency management issues. You must provide an overview of homeland security. This should entail enabling policies and legislation. At the minimum the NRF, NIMS, ICS, NIPP, etc. will be briefly covered. Next, cover, at the minimum, the following topics: prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery. Within prevention and mitigation, discuss threat and vulnerability assessments along with structural and non-structural mitigation strategies. Within preparedness, you must discuss exercises, training, equipping, typing, capability and capacity evaluation, and sheltering issues. Within response, discuss ICS. Within recovery, you must discuss redundancy, resiliency, continuity of operations planning, and contingency planning. Program evaluations and policy issues will be covered. You must also discuss how intelligence and information sharing plays a role. Finally, you must apply biblical insight into the overall issue. The presentation must include at least 5 scholarly sources (which may include the class textbooks and the Bible).

You will use PowerPoint (PPT) Mix, which may be turned into a Windows Media Video (WMV), to present and record your information. A minimum of 20 content slides are required not including the cover and reference slides. Use the same headings as listed previously in these instructions. The presentation needs to be at least 15 minutes long and should last no more than 30 minutes maximum. References will be included on the last slide. Once submitted for grading, email your PPT video to the rest of the class for their review. You do not have to show yourself in the video unless you wish to do so.
