Here is guidance for your presentation.

  • Select your topic. Each student must obtain approval of the presentation topic.
  • Microsoft Powerpoint is an excellent tool for preparing the presentation, and the notes option provides a convenient place to type in the words you would have spoken to the class if we were all assembled in a traditional classroom setting. I you don not have access to this application, you can download (for free) OpenOffice.org and use "Impress".
  • Instead of counting slides, plan your presentation to last about 30 minutes if it could be presented to your classmates in a brick-and-mortar classroom.
  • Identify your sources of information, either the bibliographical citation or the website, on the last slide of the presentation.

So the student presentation is not a formal research paper. It is intended to share information and images that you found particularly interesting or exciting.

Email the instructor if you have any other specific questions.
