 When responding, do not adjust the subject line. (2-3 sentences)

1.  The supporters of “living document” believe that the United States Constitution:

- allows for changing interpretation as it was written with broad language;

- can be interpreted to adjust for changing social values;

- changes through the amendment process.

Without the 22nd Amendment ratified in 1951, there would be no limit to how many terms a president could serve. For example, Franklin D. Roosevelt won four consecutive presidential elections. The 22nd Amendment to the United States Constitution established a two-term limit for presidents.

2.The Constitution often called a "living document" because it was created with the purpose of being able to grow and change. A living document can be interpreted and revised so as to be applicable to current circumstances. In this time the Constitution had 27 amendments. This amendments were added over 200 years.

For example, in 1971 the 26th Amendment set the legal  voting age at 18. This was a response to the Vietnam War in which young man were being forced into a war that they had absolutely no say in because they couldn't vote.
