One of the reasons, why organizational learning connects with change, is that it promotes camaraderie among employees. This would then affect the overall progress of the organization in a positive way. It is also essential for a leader to learn all the aspects of the organization before implementing a change. As Dr. Dannenberg mentioned in this lecture, “an integral understanding of organizational learning helps leadership become more effective with the multiple levels of knowledge and skills necessary for reflection, dialogue and creating the adaptable learning organization” (Dannenberg, n.d., para. 10). Leaders that have a lot of knowledge about the organization are more successful in determining the achievable goals and steps on how to attain them.
I believe that the lack of organizational learning and unclear goals would slow down the development of an agency. This would mean that the management is not able to plan for a certain change thus impact the organization negatively.
Through my personal experiences, I really do think that when employees learn new skills at work, they become more adaptable to change.
