Scenario

Suppose   you are working as HR head in a multinational company based in UAE. Briefly   introduce your selected company with respect to its financial performance,   organizational structure, market base. 

It is   widely believed among the scholars that the different style of leaderships   can bring different results. Therefore, the style of leadership is very   crucial and integral component of organizational structure. With respect to   your selected company answer the following criteria in the form of a report:-

 

Task 1

Differentiating   between the role of a leader and the function of a manager answer the   following criteria in the form of a report:-

Define   and compare the different roles and characteristics of a leader and a   manager. Use appropriate example from your sleeted organization to justify   your arguments. You also need to analyze and differentiate between the role   of a leader and function of a manager by effectively applying a range of   theories and concepts giving examples of your selected organization.

 

Task 2

Applying   the role of a leader and the function of a manager in the context of your   selected organization, answer the following criteria in the form of a   report:-

Examine   examples of how the role of a leader and the function of a manager apply in different   situational contexts giving reference from your selected organization. Also,   you need to apply different theories and models of approach, including   situational leadership, systems leadership and contingency in your selected   organization. Later, you need to assess the strengths and weaknesses of   different approaches to situations within the work environment, and   critically evaluate the different theories and approaches to leadership in   the context of your selected organization.  

 

Task 3

Demonstrating an appreciation of the role leaders and   managers play in the operations function of your selected organization,   answer the following criteria in the form of a report:-

Explain the key approaches to operations   management and the role that leaders and managers play in your selected   organization including the importance and value of operations management in   achieving business objectives. You also need to evaluate how leaders and   managers can improve efficiencies of operational management to successfully   meet business objectives in your selected organization.

 

Task 4

Demonstrating an understanding of the relationship   between leadership and management in a contemporary business environment,   answer the following criteria in the form of a report:-

Assess the factors within the selected business environment   that impact upon operational management and decision-making by leaders and   managers. Also, you need to analyze how these factors affect the business   environment, and also critically evaluate application of operations   management and factor that impact on the wider business environment giving   examples from your selected organization.
