Watch Princess   Mononoke, and then, analyze the film   according to the previous four weeks' reading. What does the film suggest   about the causes and solutions of human alienation from nature? Do the film’s   insights fit with Cronon (from Week One)? With White (from Week Two)? Is the   film’s point of view closer to deep ecology or agrarianism (from Weeks Three   and Four)?

Review your classmates’ posts. As you analyze their interpretation of the   film, consider playing devil’s advocate and attempt to show how their   analysis does not capture the essence of the either film or the authors they   compare to the film. If you agree with others, enhance the discussion by   including more supporting evidence from the articles or from your own outside   research.

Attend discussion on at least four separate days, and post a total of 800   words. There is no required word count for individual posts as long as all   your posts together total 800 words. Nor is there a minimum number of posts,   but you must post on at least four separate days by Day 7.

Carefully review the Grading Rubric   for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your discussion.
