Government and Minority Group Relations


Question:


 Identify, review, assess, and provide a summary of a government initiative designed to create access and engagement with an underrepresented community outside of the United States.  


 This course explores the pressing contemporary issue of the relationship between government and minorities. Examines the clash between established institutional values and minority group values, and surveys remedial programs aimed at dealing with the problem. Comparative case studies will be used to analyze public agencies’ internal relations with minorities (recruiting, selection, etc.), as well as their different responses to the minority groups they serve.

The assignment offers a critique based on lessons learned from the course (meaning you apply concepts, theories, arguments, and ideas gleaned from course material and course discourse and dialogue), offers strategies and recommendations for improvement grounded in current best practices literature (you should be able to use the lessons-learned to offer recommendations for changes that would be useful to improve and enhance the delivery of program objectives for the initiative). At the exemplary level your post engages and informs, demonstrates familiarity with the course materials and the subjects presented; demonstrates the ability to critically engage the literature; and incorporates and applies relevant and useful external literature; the summary demonstrates organization and development of relevant arguments from the course literature and other useful resources. Clarity of thoughts, ideas, and arguments reflected in the assignment. Post reflects a proficient use of all conventions, including spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and proper citation style where needed. Minimum three single-spaced paragraphs are required (word count = 700 words).
