Essay: Political Systems (Auto-Feedback)

Most democratic political systems in the world today can be divided into two basic types: presidential systems, like the United States, and parliamentary systems, like Great Britain. While both are representative democracies, the structures and features of the respective political systems differ greatly.

Compare and contrast the presidential system of the United States with the parliamentary system of Great Britain. As part of your answer, be sure to address (a) the selection of the legislature and the chief executive; (b) the distribution of political power in each system; and (c) the mechanism through which both political systems remain accountable to the people.
