first one :

The first thing I noticed about the compelling picture, before I even read the text, was the black eye. This automatically made me think of abuse/bullying. Right over the image of the little boy is a message that reads "HE HAS HIS MOTHER'S EYES." If I was to read the text before I notice what is in the picture, I would have assumed that the boy in the image just had the same eyes as her mother. How people always look at one's offspring and say that they have the same eyes as their parents. This was not the case. Looking at the picture and then reading the text made me think that his mother was beaten a lot. Maybe by a significant other, relative, friend, or enemy.

The picture is take from the left side of the individual's face, which is the same side the black eye is on. The lighting shows how the shadow is reflected on the right side of his face, where his face seems to be clear of bruises and discoloration. Looking at the way the shadow falls on the other side of his face, I would say that the angle the lighting fell was lined catty corner with his left eye The back ground is completely black and so is his shirt. Automatically, it makes me think of loneliness. I have never been abused but have always heard stories from people who have, and remember hearing most people say, that they feel "alone" and like they "have no one else." In the picture, the little boy looks around twelve, meaning that he is more than likely not able to depend on himself, so he probably lives with his parents, or one of them. It could be a relative. He has an innocent look on his face. One of someone shy and quiet. The imagine make me believe that he may be in a situation where he feels inconsequential. The reason I feel like this is because in the bottom right hand of the picture, the first line of the message reads "Report Abuse." The message could be for those that know of someone who is being abused that will not stand up for themselves, or someone who is being abused and too scared to come forward and talk about it. Either way, seeing the picture of this young man and then reading the caption "HE HAS HIS MOTHERS EYES" makes me conclude that himself and his mother are both victims of abuse. Just by putting those two together, I would say by a man. The mother may be too afraid to speak up and too scared to stand up for her son. She may be tenuouscompared to the one who is giving her and her son the same eye. The picture caught my attention because it is saying so much without saying much at all.

and

the second one

I had picked the mothers eyes because to me this one had stood out to me and it had grabbed my attention and had the most personality out of all the images.

By looking at Mothers eyes it is a dark almost black picture and the boy is wearing all black and is hard to see him. They had taken the picture as a head shot and the lighting on the picture is only on this boys face but it is mostly focusing on the boys fresh, swollen, black eye. The boy looks scared and sad and miserable and doesn’t know what to do and how to get away from all of this. You can see the fear in his eyes like he doesn’t know if it is going to happen again or what he has done to deserve this. This picture reads “he has his mothers eyes” in all white and in all capital letters trying to get this message out to everyone. For this boy this he is getting the same abuse from someone that his mother was or is getting. By looking at this little boys eye to does not look like it was his first time to be hit.

When I first saw this photo it jumped out at me and it had got my attention on how it was places and what it was focused on. This picture reminded me of something that would be on a book and then I looked at what it actually was. By this picture I feel like they are sending a message on children on getting abused and how they needed to get help but more importantly how his mother should of gotten help way before it had moved to the son and got them out of that house.
