Fire Protection Technology

Is it critical that fire protection systems have surge protection on all electrical fire protection equipment and appliances? Is surge protection real or just an illusion? Why, or why not?

Michael:

I think it is a definite need to have a surge protection unit available for your fir protection unit. There is a huge misconception that these units are only needed during a storm but you must look at everything that uses power and can cause a surge. Large HVAC units and anything that may cause a shift in power when starting up or shutting down may cause a power surge but I'm sure that most of these go unnoticed We are just use to seeing our tv's go off any normal home appliances. A surge protection system is designed to handle all of these things to keep our systems available for use when needed. he protection is definitely real and is very needed,
