- How will you maintain healthy boundaries with clients?
- What other services might your organization offer and how might these services interact with yours.
- Assess the impact that the community will have on your clients and organization?
- How will you work to serve your clients within the community?
- How do you think you will have an impact on the global needs in terms of the population you have chosen to serve?
- Compare the human services organization where you currently work or might work with a similar human services organization that serves the same population.

week one:
Population Living With Mental Illness
People who are diagnosed with psychosocial and mental conditions are referred to be a vulnerable population as a result of how they are treated by society. The mentally ill are stigmatization as well as discrimination against as they live their day to day lives. Just because these people cannot tend to themselves nor defend themselves they are subjected to both sexual and physical victimization hence rendering them a vulnerable population.
First things first, people living with mental illness are patients and they need medical attention. Many of those who are critically ill mentally have been abandoned by their families yet they can tend to themselves. Such people are left to the mercy of the world yet they need medical assistance. Human service professionals should identify such individuals and provide them with medical attention as a way of helping them and try to bring them back to society. Just like anybody else, this population also needs to be treated with love and care. However, on the contrary, many people are stigmatizing them and discriminating against them instead of showing them the love and care they deserve (Fox, et. al 2018). Once they are treated with love and care they will not be subjected to the physical and sexual victimization that they are going through. The third need of this population is proper housing and shelter. As earlier stated that most of them are left all by themselves yet they are not able to take care of themselves. Mental ill patients should be provided with shelter, a place where they would reside as they undergo their treatment.
In the past 10 years, these needs have not changed a bit however, there is hope that they may change in the next 10 years. With the rise of humanitarian groups that are willing to help this population, in the years to come many of the needs will have been catered for and this population will be in a better place. As I earlier stated that first things first, If I were to address these needs I would begin with the one of medical treatment as it is what this population needs the most. Some of the conditions might be treated and some of the individuals return to normal. I would also reach out to humanitarians and well-wishers who are willing to help this population.
