Domestic Violence fundraising event


Fundraising Event Paper– 25 pts. You are the Executive Director of the Domestic Violence Shelter, which is a non-profit agency in your community. Each year during October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, you plan a fundraising event to help balance your budget. As your expenses go up each year so do your funding needs. Consider a Fundraising Event (s) that will yield at least $10,000. Remember to use your Board of Directors, volunteers, or any other participants in your community who can you raise the money. You can choose an annual fund, a capital campaign, or in-kind matching donations if you have a grant. Use the 199 Fun and Effective Fundraising Events text to help you with ideas. You can choose one large community event or several smaller ones during the month of October to also help bring awareness to this issue. How can you involve the community, bring awareness to an issue, change attitudes, educate people, raise money, and have fun all at the same time? Be specific in your plan and timeline. Include supplies you will need, how you will conduct the event, who will do each task, when, and where it will take place. What is your anticipated outcome in revenue? Include a line item budget. What do you expect to gain in community support, participation, education or awareness of an issue? Put on your 


thinking cap and be sure to review chapters 1-19 of Fundraising Events text, choosing an event that you find interesting. When you decide what type of event to organize, read the chapter describing that event thoroughly. Be sure to also read chapters 2-13 of the Effective Fundraising text. Use of the 2 textbooks required plus 2 outside scholarly resources. APA referencing and Turn-it-in required. Due in Module 6.  6-8 pages.
