Traditional medicine is policed by medical boards in each state.  They have been historically conservative when it comes to new techniques or new uses for old medical practices.  How can the profession help to protect the consumer from inappropriate practitioners while still allowing new practices to flourish?  Specifically, how can we integrate the use of CAM into treatments while assuring our patients that the means and caregiver are safe and well trained?  Who should police the use and education of any caregiver?  Should this all come under the purview of the medical board of each state?
