Discussion: Interpret a Law

profileewsayaad

Most unmanned systems can be equipped with recording devices. Whether or not the recording of a private citizen, someone's home, or a business or facility is considered an invasion of privacy could depend on where the unmanned system operator lives.

If you live in the U.S., find your state's statutes online. (One possible resource is the Law Librarians' Society of Washington D.C. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.). Search for a current law related to any of the following topics that could possibly be used in a case for or against the use of an unmanned system: privacy, surveillance, trespassing, nuisance, stalking, data protection, personal information, sensitive information, intellectual property, critical infrastructure facilities, etc. If you don't live in the U.S., search the statutes for any U.S. state or for a law from your country or province.

Write a 300-word post identifying and describing the law and its pertinent sections. Explain how the law could be used in a hypothetical court case involving an unmanned system, either to prosecute or defend your hypothetical situation.
