Discussion 3

The procedural framework for program evaluation is a practical, adaptable approach that identifies required elements of program evaluation. Frameworks may vary in the number of steps and the kinds of steps in their procedure depending on what is being evaluated, but generally there are some common steps to all effective procedures.

Read the Administrative Unit Review Toolkit. Compare the procedural steps in this toolkit to those in the overview and in the readings this week.

Post to the discussion whether you think the steps in the toolkit are justified and why. Based on your comparison to the procedural steps in the readings and overview, would you revise San Joaquin’s steps? What would you change? What did you learn about the differences between academic program review and administrative unit review?
