You are invited to join the Governing Board of a nonprofit organization that does work in an area of interest to you. Flattered, your first inclination is to say “yes.” But, being a prudent prospective board member, you seek to learn certain things about the organization and its board before saying “yes” or “no.”

To prepare for this Assignment, consider how you would go about your decision.
