PLEASE READ INSTRUCTIONS ATTACHED TO ASSIGNMENT.

BELOW I HAVE ALSO POSTED MY PROFESSORS FEEDBACK ON MY PROPOSAL WHICH YOU WOULD NEED TO USE AS REFRENCE WHEN DOING ASSIGNMENT.

The case study should be written up as a word document and be no more than 4 pages double-spaced not including references (MLA or APA) and include in-text citations. This is not an opinion-based paper. Every fact you state needs a citation to let the reader know where you found that information. It should include an introduction to the environmental issue and its location. The next portion should be about the opposing views (i.e., at least 3 cons and 3 pros; if you can only find cons, then replace the pros with examples of solutions to the cons). The pros and cons need to be focused on the environmental impact of the problem, not just how it's affecting humans. Think about what it is doing to the ecosystems. Tie it to what you are learning in class.

***Note that in many, many cases the issue you have chosen only has cons, so you need to point out the cons and come up with solutions to those cons.  Most of you will have no 'pros' with the topic you have chosen (which is normal).

***Note that many of you are having a tendency to focus on the human impacts of the issue you have chosen.  It needs to be focused on overall environmental cons, pros or solutions.  Human impacts should only be included if they are just 'us' as a part of the effects on animals in general within your area of focus.  They shouldn't ever be just about us.

***Note that you need to keep the focus on an area, not 'world-wide'.  You might talk about a city, or a state, or a country, or even a continent.  For some of you, it might be a particular ocean - things like that.  Maybe some of you might need to talk about a problem that is coming from an area far away (identify that area), then talk about your cons, pros or solutions in terms of another specific area on which you are doing the analysis.  Ideally I want you to have pretty specific, doable things that can be clearly understood and manageable in an area.

On the Word document, you should have:

  • your name
  • title
  • the case study
  • works cited (APA or MLA)

Once completed, submit it to the Semester Project Case Study assignment folder and begin work on your presentation.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the feedback my professor gave me for the proposal part of this project so when working on case study we won't make same mistake.

"Please make sure to provide your references in MLA or APA format in future.  (if you want to come back here and add properly cited references I will adjust your grade a bit).

Note that your pros and cons aren't supposed to be about human economic issues, our happiness, etc. -- shouldn't be focused on humans.  The pros and cons need to be about the environment as a whole (the flora and fauna, etc. -- we are a small part of the fauna).  So you don't really have any pros, you have 'problems' and solutions.  So change that up in the next part of the project submission.

So you need to expand the lead effects in these areas to what happens to animals and plants in the region then there are water leaks, or people water their lawns, etc."

I have also attached rubric below so you can see how he is grading by.
