Yes, I feel that eliminating income tax and applying a consumption tax will broaden the tax base. I don't think the income that people work for should be taxed. However, whatever goods or services that consumers decide to purchase or use can be taxed. If income is not taxed, it gives people more money to spend and spending with then collect taxes. People should be given the chance to choose what they do with their money before the government takes out what it feels like it deserves to take out. The government needs to realize that when consumers have more disposable money, the better off it will be with a consumption tax.

The one thing that I have learned from this course is about the various types of taxes and fees and how they are used by the federal government and various states. This information is important moving forward because citizens should have a clear understanding of why they are being taxed and what these funds are being used for.
