In your own words, define the following terms:

Control group: The group that that doesn’t receive treatment by researchers and is then used as a target to measure how the other tested subjects do.

Experimental group: The group in an experiment that receives the variable being tested. It is used to find answers in an experiment.

Independent variable: The variable that doesn’t change.

Dependent variable: The variable being tested.

2)      Now decide how you will apply each one in your study

What is your control group? How is the communication between doctors and nurses that work day shift in the ER at a hospital.

What is/are your experimental group(s)? How is the communication between doctors and nurses that work night shift in the ER at a hospital.

What is independent variable? Nurses and doctors that communicate.

What is your dependent Variable? Nurses and doctors that don’t communicate and will be attending workshops and educational meetings.

1. For your results, you will need at least two graphs. Briefly describe what you intend to show in each graph.

· Graph 1: First graph/chart will show how communication between doctors and nurses is affected if they don’t attend educational meetings/workshops.

· Graph 2: Second graph/chart will show how nurses benefit when both doctors and nurses attend educational meetings/workshops.
