Redesign of business
June 13, 2021
Introduction
The primary goal of any business is to profit from its operations. Ford Motor Company used business process redesign to completely transform its operating
methods, with the goal of lowering costs and increasing profits in comparison to previous business years (Halaka, M., & Perka, R. 2019). Considering the previous
performance of Ford Motor Company and the methods used in operation by the members, it was easy to identify the necessary sectors that required to be changed
to enhance efficiency. This paper contains the things that went right and the things that went wrong in the business process redesign in Ford Motor Company and its
better job in minimizing risk failure.
Numerous things went well during Ford Motor Company's business process redesign, as the company was able to improve the performance of various sectors. Offering
services to customers was one of the activities that changed in the company in order to improve the quality of services offered to customers. Through business
process redesign, the company created more challenging and highly rewarding jobs, which benefited the company's members and contributed to the company's
profitability. Due to the competitive pressure from other related companies, the company's changes enabled the members to have a better way to respond to the
stress and improve the quality of their products. The business has benefited from the process that was introduced during the business process redesign of involving
all the members in the organization in the decision-making process since different ideas are suggested and carried out to increase production. There were a few
things that went wrong during the Ford Motor Company's business process redesign, which resulted in the process having implementation difficulties. Inadequate
knowledge among employees regarding the process's purpose resulted in exaggerated ideas that benefited only the individuals. The process was designed specifically
to maximize the business's profit, not to develop its employees. Most likely, the business process redesign will take time to complete, resulting in time being
wasted as new ideas are implemented. Additionally, the idea of changing the Ford Motor Company's standard operating procedures was challenging because
they did not know the outcome of the changes, and the majority of employees were fearful of the unexpected outcome. Additionally, the business process redesign
was costly, and the company's management expended considerable effort to ensure that the company met its objectives. To minimize the risk of failure, the business
can choose to form an effective management team that will contribute to the company's effective control. Identifying the risk is critical because it raises awareness

and enables members to develop strategies to avoid potential failures.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Ford Company is one of the companies which have implemented redesign of business. Despite the positive effects of the process, some failures might
be recorded such as high costs. Moreover, in the application of changes in the business, there are various risks that may be taken and may sometimes lead to
failure; hence, the company requires to create awareness of the possible risks that may lead to failure so that the members can avoid them. However, business process
redesign is an effective process in maximizing profit and increasing productivity.
