· Describe the generalized system of values which is said to characterize North American Indigenous peoples?

The generalized system of values which is said to characterize North American Indegenous people is heavily based their individual connection with their culture. Overall indigenous people are collectivist and this influences their daily decisions. It is normal for an indigenous person to feel the need to be present in extended family events, although it could negatively affect their work life. In response to generations of grief, North American Indigenous people have an innate desire to work as a group and experience shame when leaving a reservation to live in the city. Nonetheless, Indigenous people are prideful of their heritage and resilience to persevere. In addition, Indigenous people are known to be on "Indian Time". Unfortunately, this has been turned to an insult portraying indigenous people as always late, when in reality it it meant to signify a more circular view of time. The time is money philosophy of America is the complete opposite to indigenous people as they believe that things will happen when they are meant to happen. Indigenous people are proud of their culture and strive to keep their "indianess" in an environment where it is rare.
