Running Head: Closing Gap 1

Closing Gap 4

Mara, good effort. Work on that first topic sentence and on the thesis. You need at least 2 scholarly journal articles. Argument looks good though. APA is inconsistent. Please make sure to follow APA formatting rules

Introduction

There have been discussions regarding the manner that individuals are usually left without skills to be properly integrated into the workforce after their graduation. This discussion is intended to focus on this aspect of closing the gap and what needs to be done in order to ensure this gap is reduced and there are more graduates who are prepared for the workplace environment.

Body Paragraphs

Supporting Evidence Body Paragraph #1

There is a high percentage in those that want to join these institutions, therefore, there will be high graduation numbers. It offers a solution in the form of making application procedures much more simple. They also go on to provide students with access to the best advisory resources and most complete college planning resources. This is as discussed in the discussion in Caperton’s discussion of bridging the gap (Caperton, 2012).

Supporting Evidence Body Paragraph #2

There is also the argument that inadequate preparation of individuals during their years of education is also one of the most reasons as to why there is an increase in the gap between graduation and employment. This is backed up by the data regarding the lack of skills and retraining that employees are usually required to fulfill before they begin their jobs (Gilligan, 2016).

Supporting Evidence Body Paragraph #3

The recruitment procedure is also another hurdle that contributes to the gap. Employers should consider other means of recruitment and determination of their employees and who qualifies. In this way, there is a need of change for these procedures and systems to fit into modern times (University Business, 2016).

Supporting Evidence Body Paragraph #4

There is also the need to coordinate efforts between learner requirements and job availability. This way there is the ability for the more informed decision-making process for women and several other individuals (Colantuono, 2013).

Counter Argument Body Paragraph #5

One of the most important arguments raised is how educational and instructional institutions are becoming obsolete in the form of the courses and skills they impact on students. There is little return on investment regarding how the students turn out at the end of their training. On top of that, the gap may be caused by the lack of innovative procedures that lead and create more opportunities for employment niches to be created. This regards changes in policy and more accommodation for skilled individuals as compared to formally educated ones.

Conclusion

There is a high need to discuss and highlight the importance of bridging and closing of the job and graduation gap. This is due to the increase in the number of graduates concerning the availability of jobs and employment opportunities. Hence, the whole manner through which recruitment and enforcement of interaction should be changed and given a more considerable approach.
