ANLY 515 Final Project Risk Modeling Instructor: Dr. Martin A. Negrón For this project students will use the portfolio developed for the homework problems. The time interval will be from the end of the homework time interval to the present. Students must use the tools and techniques discussed in each lecture to progressively develop and evaluate the portfolio. The project will consist of 2 separate deliverables and each deliverable will be graded using the criteria described below: Project Proposal (100 points)

Cover page. Includes a project title, student’s names and date in this order. Be sure to compose a descriptive but brief project title. Executive summary. Provides a summary of the project scope, findings, and conclusions. (model findings and conclusions are included with the final report) Table of contents. Lists section headings, figures, and tables with the corresponding page numbers. Introduction. Sets up the scene with background information on the portfolio under study, the objectives of the project, and the optimization objectives.

o Describe the portfolio § Sectors

• Securities o Time scope

Project plan. Describe how each of the tools and techniques from each lecture will be applied to the portfolio Results must be presented by sector and as a portfolio

Project Report (also include the sections from the project proposal including any modifications) (100 points)

Model description. Describes how the modeling tools discussed in class were used to model the portfolio (by sector and total)

Output analysis. Describes simulation model outputs, including run scenarios and the statistical analysis of simulation-produced observations (if applicable). Simulation results. Collects and displays summary statistics of multiple replicated scenarios. Describe how the model outputs support the assessment of the risks identified Recommended modifications (if any). A common motivation for modeling an extant system is to come up with modifications in system parameters or configurations that produce improvements. Be sure to discuss thoroughly the impact of suggested modifications by quantifying improvements and analyzing tradeoffs where relevant. Conclusions and recommendations. Summarizes study findings and furnishes a set of recommendations. Appendices. Contains any relevant material that might provide undesired digression in the report’s body.
