Here is that scenario for the Final Project:

You are walking in the park.  An elderly woman approaches you and asks, “Can you help me?  I have misplaced my keys.”  She points to a picnic table about 20 meters behind her and says, “I left them right on that table, but now I don’t know where they are.  I think I must have dropped them in the grass. I have looked all over, but I cannot seem to find them. ”

You notice that the grass is quite tall, as it has not been mowed recently.  In the area between the woman and the table, there are also some shrubs, a garbage can, six unattended children in a playground, and four men playing basketball.

The woman continues, “I walked here to the park – I brought some lunch with me – I like to read and eat at this table.  After I finished my lunch, I threw out my lunch sack; and when I returned to the table to get my book and keys, the keys were missing.  I am afraid my memory is not what it used to be!  Could you please help me?”

How would you use the scientific method to help this woman find her keys?  Be sure to describe the process in terms of the scientific method.  State your hypotheses, how you test your hypotheses (by experiment or other form of research), and whether or not the test supports the hypothesis.Develop your own detailed problem and apply the scientific method to solve it
