    Sampling Strategies for Mixed-Methods Research Designs

 

 

How we choose our sample for our study has important implications for when we make interpretations. Sampling choices are especially important for mixed-methods research designs because elements of both qualitative and quantitative designs need to be taken into consideration in choosing the sample.

 

A minimum of 350 words: at least  2 sources from additional professional literature, such as articles from peer-reviewed journals and relevant textbooks.

 

Describe two sampling methods and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each for use with a mixed-methods research design.

 

Describe how researchers go about selecting a sampling strategy.

 

Describe the role that the research question plays when you choose the sample.

 

Describe what it means to have a representative sample, and why this is vital to the outcome of the study.
