Hunters Son Dialogue Activity

1.           Please write 1-2 sentences for each of the characters below, explaining the broader point of view that they represent:

HUNTER:

HUNTER’S SON:

THE BOY:

2.           Based on your answers above, please explain in 2-3 sentences what you think the author is trying to achieve by bringing these perspectives together and having them speak with one another.

Many plays feature dialogue between characters. A pretty obvious point, you're probaby thinking. However, oftentimes this dialogue rises above the individual characters and becomes the voice of something larger like broader point of view or perspective. One way to approach this play is to see the characters as speaking for elements/voices in society.

In the following activity, I'd like for you to fill out a worksheet that will walk you through the steps of identifying these perspectives or points of view and considering the purpose of bringing them together within this play.
