Primary Task Response: Within the Discussion Board area, write 400–600 words that respond to the following questions with your thoughts, ideas, and comments. This will be the foundation for future discussions by your classmates. Be substantive and clear, and use examples to reinforce your ideas.

The United States has a federal system of government in which power is shared between the federal and state governments. So, both the U.S. government and each state have their own court systems.

Provide a hypothetical example of a federal criminal trial, as well as a hypothetical example of a state criminal trial. In your examples, include the following:
