Share a personal experience with any one CD (it can be from your family, neighborhood, or society or your work/travel experience). Inform us of what the CD was, causes, where the event happened, and how the situation was dealt with. Instead of reviewing articles I am hoping the stories we all have to share will enrich our understanding of CDs. (no word count limit)

For example, in my extended family(in Zimbabwe), there is a family that lost four out of five of their children to HIV/AIDS. Recently, the familiy lost one of the grandchildren who was born HIV/AIDS positive. SDH have been at the center of the persistence of HIV/AIDS in this household. All of the four children who got infected had no high school education, lived in poor housing, and could not afford any health care services. All children got married early in life. Realizing that they had HIV/AIDS they eventually returned from their husbands/inlaws back to our village, only to be taken care of by their mother.  As of today the old woman is taking care of six orphans, some who are believed to be HIV/AIDS positive. Luckily there are beneficiaries of the PEPFAR efforts. I have also periodically assisted the family with school supplies.
