persuasive messages

profilef9349f

write two persuasive sales messages. Both messages should sell your business writing textbook, but each message should be aimed at a different audience.

One audience can be academic (for instance, write to a UWM student. In this case the message would be closer to direct-style communication since students taking this class will be receptive); the other should not be (suggest that a business use it as a guidebook, create the text of a Shwom/Snyder infomercial, etc.). The outside audience that will be resistant to buying a textbook and will need more information to convince them.

Use the strategies Shwom and Snyder outline in chapter 5: Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. See the annotated example on page 166 for additional help. Feel free to be creative.
