Communication and Conflict or Course Evaluation

Please respond to one of the following questions:

Question A

Think of a conflict that you’ve witnessed, been involved in or heard about. Think of what led up to this conflict, how it unfolded and how it was resolved.

Now, think about what we’ve discussed about the various styles of speech, structures and vocal tactics. If you were in this same conflict again, how would you use what you’ve learned to resolve the disagreement, or avoid it entirely?

Could you use persuasive tactics to defuse the situation before it erupted? Would you have controlled your inflection or vocal output so that your delivery changed the way a message was interpreted? How could your nonverbal communication contributed in a more positive way?

Question B

As this course draws to a close, Grantham University and I want to thank you for your hard work and commitment throughout the past eight weeks. In this final discussion forum, I’d like to open the floor to you and ask for your feedback.

  • What did you like about this class?
  • What can we improve?
  • What activities/exercises were beneficial to you?
  • What would you add or takeaway?

Your feedback is valuable to us, so please be forthcoming and honest with your comments. Congratulations on completing CO101 and I wish you lots of luck in your future endeavors!
