Description:

For the final in this course, you will be required to submit the following items:

  • Letter of Application (fictional)
  • Résumé (current)
  • e-Portfolio Link

Letter of Application:

For the Letter of Application assignment, research a job and/ or company that you are interested in applying to after graduation. Using business letter format, provide a detailed letter why you are qualified for the job. Within your letter, be sure to outline your educational history, job related experience, skills, abilities, and any other important information related to the job description.

For this assignment, it is fine to use fictional information, but try to be as realistic as possible.

Also, in place of a Letter of Application, you are welcome to write and submit a Personal Statement for those applying to UW and WSU.

Résumé:

For the Résumé assignment, provide a current functional résumé outlining your education, work history, skills, and abilities.

(You do not need to include "Objective").

As a reminder, no one will have access to your résumé; however, if you are not comfortable submitting a "real" résumé, you are welcome to submit a fictional one.

e-Portfolio:

e-portfolio should be created using Canvas and include at least the following items:

  • 10 – Discussion Posts
  • 2 – Business Letters (1 Claim Letter and 1 Adjustment Letter)
  • 1 - EvCC Library Literacy Session Memo
  • 1- Technical Description and Specification Proposal (Group Project)
  • 1 - Technical Description (Group Project)
  • 1 – Technical Specification (Group Project)
  • 1 - Technical Instruction
  • 1 - Group Presentation (slides)
  • 1 - Technical Report Proposal
  • 1 - Technical Report

The following are NOT required for e-Portfolios:

  • Letter of Application
  • Résumé

In the “Settings” section of CANVAS, there is a tab titled “ePortfolios” with a “Create an ePortfolio” button. After you create your e-Portfolio, please make sure you make your portfolio public (or "published") so that I can view your work.

Helpful Information:

Remember that your electronic portfolio should have a front page that introduces you, the purpose for the portfolio, and your work for this course. In addition to your front page, you will need links to your various assignments.

All Discussions are open until June 7th so that you can link your work to your portfolio. (You should have saved copies of your other written work).

Also, if you did NOT complete an assignment listed above, you do NOT need to go back and complete the assignment. Simply leave this assignment out of your final portfolio.
