I need a small little website done on SharePoint designer due on Thursday based on the following criteria. Steps to create a “simple” web page using Microsoft sharepoint designer: • Open SharePoint Designer (click start, then all programs, Microsoft office 2007, SharePoint Designer) • Click File on the toolbar. • Click new. • Click web site. • Select empty web site. • Click okay. To create your HomePage: • Click “new page” on the tool bar. • Select HTML. • Click okay. To name your page: • Right click. (anywhere on the blank white page.) • Left click page properties • Where is says “title”, type the name of your page. • Click okay. To Save your page: • Click File on the toolbar. • Click Save As. • Make sure to designate the correct path. (Find it on the left, usually your RICACAD with your name in the path or onto your jump drive and in either case, into your CS101 folder. I recommend you create a new folder inside the CS101 folder called project or final.) • Make the file name the same as the name of your page. Add underscores between each work and .htm at the end. • Click okay. To create additional pages (children): • Click File on the toolbar • Click new • Click page (The following is a repeat of the above instructions) To name your page: • Right click. Add .htm at the end. • Click Okay. • Create at least 3 pages. – One level of “children”. • Make sure to save each page: • Click File. • Click Save As. • Type the name exact. • Click save. Now that the Home Page and additional pages have been created, the “structure” and links need to be set up. • Click on “Site” on the toolbar. • Select “Navigation”. On the left is the “Folder List”. • Click and drag the home page into the middle. • Then click and drag each of the addition pages underneath the home page, but next to each other. (Make sure all the names appear as you thought they should. If your names are not in the correct place, your links will not work properly. Usually this happens if you forget to save EACH page individually.) • Click File. • Click Save All.
