In this forum, we'll look at possible sources for your research projects, evaluating and discussing the usefulness of those sources. Begin by using the databases in the Online Library and Google Scholar to look for research on your topic. Find at least 2 peer reviewed sources that you think you could use in your research project. Then, in your main post:

  1. Tell us which research project you plan to do and why.
  2. Talk about the process you went through finding the sources. What database worked best? Did you learn about the source and get access to it using the same database, or did you have to learn about it using one, and access it using another? Also discuss any difficulties you encountered and give tips that you think could help your classmates.
  3. Let us know what your two peer-reviewed sources are (and where you found them). Briefly summarize your peer-reviewed sources in two sentences, and then explain, in two sentences, how you think these sources will contribute to your research project. (You may also want to try to cite these sources.  This is not required; however, this way you have feedback about the format of your citations before you hand in your final essay.)
as you are writing your initial forum post for this week, please remember that you must post all three answers in ONE main post. Then reply to fellow students.

The forum instructions this week mention the term “peer reviewed.” Just FYI, peer reviewed means that the work was evaluated [prior to publication] and approved by subject-matter experts of that particular field of study. This is an indication of a scholarly publication. Other indicators of scholarly work include formal language, bibliography, original research, quotes from primary sources, etc. In some of our library databases, you can limit your search to peer-reviewed articles only.
