Health Care Reform Project, Part I

The Health Care Reform Project consists of three parts, which you will complete in Weeks Two, Three, and Five. Each part builds upon the last portion completed. Part I is defining “the problem/issue.”

Resource: Grading Criteria: Health Care Reform Project, Part I on the student website

o

Select a current health care economic issue, such as increases in health care spending, the high cost of prescription drugs, the influence of current legislation on health care, the costs of medical care for an aging population, or the influence of illegal immigrants on health care economics in the United States. Feel free to use other topics related to health care economics.

Describe the problem/issue in 300-350 words. This will be background information on the chosen topic incorporated into the Introduction of your paper. To help your form this section, try answering questions such as: Why is this problem important? What is the economic impact of this problem? What happens if this problem is not resolved, or if this issue is not addressed?

o

Perform a literature search on the issue. Find at least three articles and summarize each article in 150-200 words. At a minimum, your articles should illustrate the magnitude/scale of the issue/problem.

o    Total

Format your response consistent with APA guidelines. The total length of the assignment should be 850-1150 words:
