# find the error Math

"Next I will use Cowling’s formula to calculate a child’s aged based on the 2/3 known variables in the

**formula**. In this problem a in the unknown variable. I know that D=800mg and d=233mg. I will start my process of solving by

**substituting**the letter with numbers:

233=800(a+1)

24

Our goal in this problem is to isolate the a to get the age, thus we want to have a **conditional** **equation** to get the only possible answer for the unknown variable a. will start by multiplying by 24 on each side to simplify our problem thus eliminating the denominator.

24(233)=800(a+1)*~~24~~

~~24~~

By doing this we begin to isolate our unknown variable further. After the multiplication is completed we have:

5592=800(a+1)

Finally to completely isolate the unknown we must do the opposite of multiplication, division. I will divide both sides by 800.

5592 =a

800

a= **6.99**. In this problem our child is 7yrs of age receiving 233 mg of medication."
