Assignment Background:

Graduate students studying the realm of financial services marketing arena need to be aware of the impact and use of social media and marketing. The Social Media Handbook for Financial Advisors by Ehrlich & Fanelli, the Financial Services Marketing Handbook by Halloran & Thies, Strengths Finder 2.0 by Rath andStrengths Based Selling by Rutigliano and Brim are great examples of popular texts that can assist the effort to better synthesize the materials of this course. These texts offer timely working-world perspectives.

Instructions:

You are to choose one of the four recommended texts from the syllabus and write a book review. IF you choose either of the 'Strengths Based' texts, YOU MUST ENSURE your copy of the text will have a functioning StrengthsFinder assessment code--double check that your copy will have it or you will not be able to complete the text as designed. Your work should be typed in MS Word and submitted to the appropriate drop box by the submission due date (see course calendar for closing dates), it is perfectly fine to submit work early, as the drop box is open until closing date. Clearly break your work into sections for assessment purposes--the more clearly you show your work, the more clearly I can provide scoring feedback. No late submissions will be accepted, and submissions are to only be submitted via appropriate dropbox. Please be thorough and complete in your responses, and make absolutely sure you put all writing 'in your own words' as your score will reflect the depth, level, and detail provided. This work will be scored in conjunction with the WTAMU MBA scoring rubric for Objective 1.1 Professional Writing.

The review will be structured with 4 distinct sections:

Section 1:

Introduction. 350 words. Provide a brief overview of the work and indicate your area of major discussion and why you chose this area.

Section 2:

Chapter by chapter summary of the text., e.g., Chapter 1: 250 words on the main tenets of that particular chapter, on to the next. Summarize all chapters in the manner described in the previous sentence. 

Section 3:

Area of Major discussion 750-900 words. In this section you will discuss, evaluate, and explain your major take aways from this text...what areas of the text do you feel are most important to you, your career, and sales and sales management within the financial services marketplace. State reasons and justify with outside resources & citations where appropriate.

Section 4:

Conclusion 350-450 words. Summarize and conclude your work.
