Please work in your groups to assemble an exhaustive list of funding sources for entrepreneurs!!

Start with a few of the following links to get you started, but please go farther and research your own to bring as many contacts and specifics as you can to the class.  We will assemble all of them into a consolidated list for the students in the class so it is best for everybody if the overlap between the groups is minimal.

Try searching the websites for each of the following magazines:

1) FastCompany

2) Inc.

3) Forbes

4) Fortune

5) Entrepreneur Magazine

Also, be sure to survey government funding sources -- at the local, state and federal level ( Saginaw,MI)-- for special programs for certain kinds of entrepreneurial start-ups (technology, recycling, bio-fuels, solar, wind energy, minority firms, etc.).

Check out the Small Business Administration and any other sites you can find.  Many communities have a Chamber of Commerce with funds provided by foundations for start-ups and new business initiatives.  Also, many of the large universities have technology incubators designed to commercialize research and development and grants at those universities may be available for further commercialization.  Check out large state universities in Michigan and elsewhere.

Please turn in the attached spreadsheet template with as many as you can.  To get full credit, each team needs to list at least 15 unique funding sources.
