For this assignment, write an assessment paper in which you create an annotated list of assessment materials available for use in your school system to evaluate students for possible special education services. These materials should be available in the school district resource center. If you are unable to obtain materials locally, research online to identify common assessments utilized nationwide. This list can include assessments you have found effective or are currently utilizing. Evaluate each assessment and include one or more paragraphs describing the assessment on the list. Include the unique characteristics of each assessment instrument, its strengths and weaknesses, and situations in which it is an especially helpful assessment tool. Include at least ten assessments on the list.

Once the list is developed, write a section describing your decision-making process concerning which assessment materials you plan to utilize to qualify students for services in your current position or the kind of position to which you aspire.

Follow this with a section in which you discuss what will need to be done before implementation of the assessments. Describe how you plan to inform teachers about new procedures and assessment materials, how you will prepare special education teachers to deliver the targeted assessments, and how you will assure procedural compliance with the law when administering the chosen assessments.
