1: CLASS - What is a WAN? Locate an example of a typical WAN setup and describe the components. Provide a picture, chart, or image if possible.

Respond to your classmates and discuss how your examples differ.

2:Great post! i have to agree that the world wide web is one large WAN. My main reason for thinking this is because all telecommunications connect to each other by a series devices and they all follows a set of standards. these devices also use ip addresses like our personal networks and our LANs. the fact that the world is running our of IPv4 is a good indication of how we are ll networks are connected

3:

I think both LAN and WAN have their own advantages. When comparing the two, a LAN would be less expensive than a WAN since connections are all local or within the same office building. Having a WAN would be much more expensive since high speed lines would have to be leased in order to provide connections between multiple buildings across state lines. If a large company had sites in Chicago, Dallas, Roanoke, San Francisco, and a data center in Portland a WAN would be necessary in order to have communication between all the sites. A smaller company that is located in one building would only require a LAN.

4:I think one of the most obvious outcomes of not following Order of Ops would be simply not arriving at the correct location. Let's take this to a greater level. When math is involved in solving a complex life or death situation, decisions must be made, conclusions must be triple checked then reverified. Order of Ops provides us a platform which systematic processes can be executed precisely to remove as much doubt and uncertainty. I've always done math with the check once is none, and two is one mentality for checking your work. These types of steps provide order in a situation that can be extremely chaotic

5:  For me everything has to be planned out every aspect of my life has to be planned out to the T. If one thing doesn't go according to my plan everything falls apart for the rest of the day. ( dont know if that what you meant by outside of the classroom). In my life everything is planned out and done in order then the end results will be what will make me happy and the same thing goes for any type of problem whether it's in math or real life.

6:I think the order of operations is most important to follow to not only derive at the correct answer, but it allows us to be clear and concise when using such things as Microsoft Excel. I create spreadsheets at work to track expenses and conduct monthly reconciliations that are necessary for reporting to my boss. Without the order of operations being used, a person could not use Excel properly and have the correct answers for reporting. This would not only complicate things, but all information that is inputted into the system would be useless. There are specific duties in a person's job that require the need to use the order of operations so it is important that we have it in place to calculate correctly
