Excess sodium intake has been linked to hypertension.  The DASH diet [page 551 of textbook] may reduce your risk of hypertension.  Take a look at the Nutrition Facts label of some foods you commonly eat.  Describe these foods and make an estimate (in mg per day) of the sodium you consume in per day.  How does your sodium intake compare to the: (1) Adequate Intake [AI] (2) Upper Limit [UL] (3) Daily Value [DV]? Discuss what steps you might take to replace high sodium foods with more nutritious foods.
