COMMENT FROM POST 3
leanetferrer81It would be interesting to break down the overall
percentages by hand hygiene compliance entering and exiting the room. In
reviewing another hospital with a 78% compliance rate it was reported that they
had a significant compliance difference between when nurses entered the room
and exited. When the nurses entered,
compliance was 63% but jumped up to 93% when exiting the room. Unfortunately, those results show that nurses
are not as conscientious of spreading infections before patient contact as they
are after contact.
