A. Post 3: Chapters 2 to 5 (pp. 19 - 46)

When you reflect on these chapters, consider how you feel about Meursault's socializing with other characters. What do these relationships reveal about him?

Choose carefully the key passage in each chapter:

a. Read each chapter slowly, closely - pay attention to details, highlight meaningful passages.

b. Choose what you think to be the key passage in this chapter and copy it. Add citing.

c. Write your post explaining the passage, its details, why it's so important and meaningful, how it throws new light on the character, and how it advances the story.

A reminder: Begin with a thesis statement that includes the novel's title, writer's name, and the main point you are making. You can use short quotes from the entire chapter. Conclude with a strong, interesting statement, something you have not said before.

B. Post 4: Chapter 6, pp. 47- 59

Chapter 6 is one of the most important chapters in the book. It leaves open many questions. Notice the role of the sun and the sea. Have you encountered any of them earlier? Can you explain why does Meursault kill the Arab? Can you find anything to justify his action?

A reminder: This is your personal reflection on this chapter. (Remember to have thesis statement, short summary, short but significant quotes, signal phrases, citing.)
