Chapter 17 – I want you to create a mini-dictionary of the key terms in the chapter, defining each blue or red term (e.g., “substantial performance”, “personal satisfaction contract”) and providing an example. Then do Essay Questions 1-4 on pp 400-401.
Chapter 20 – Identify at least 5 ways in which the Uniform Commercial Code is different than the common law of contracts (which you previously learned in Week 4), with explanation. Then do Essay Questions 1-4 on pp. 476-77.
Chapter 21 – Identify 5 legal rules that you did not previously know. Then do Essay Questions 1-4 on pp. 502-503.
Chapter 22 – What is the difference between express and implied warranties? When you buy a used car, how would you prove the existence of express warranties? Implied? Do Discussion questions 1-5 on p. 530 (not Essay questions)
Chapter 23 – Do what is incorrectly labelled “Discussion Questions” 1-5 on p. 553-554 (should be called Essay Questions).
Week 5 Discussion Board
Some people find the UCC difficult and (gasp!) boring. I personally love it. In law school, it was the first area of law that was defined and organized. I would like you to identify one area of the UCC (Chs. 20-23) and explain why you think it is beneficial to commerce. Read a few other people's posts for learning purposes.
