Please describe how the ED in your organization exercises leadership for the board.  You may want to think about the board meetings and what happens at the meeting.  Does the ED and board chair have a close relationship?  Have you noticed the nature of the relationship changed when board chairs changed?  Can you see strengths or weaknesses in this area of the nonprofit's existence?

If the Executive Director is at odds with several members of the board over the board members' perception of the efficiency and discipline inherent in the operation of the nonprofit, what can the ED do to address that problem?  The ED does not work for individual board members but works for the board as a whole.  However, the board does evaluate and has the power to terminate the employment of the ED should the board decide to do so.  What would you suggest to the ED if she called you in as a consultant?  Submit a 500 word essay.

Select an issue that's important in America today, and choose an interest group that has taken on that issue. What tactics and methods do they use to influence the Congress and the president?

Make sure to include a news article from the last four weeks of this group in action. Do not get sidetracked in discussions about the issue they support. Stay focused on their tactics and methods.
