Advice: here are two things you should be prepared to answer questions about:A) Several of the latter chapters of Ecotopia focus on elements of Ecotopian society that don’t relate very
obviously to environmental issues (hospitals, schools, sports, race relations, for instance).  Be prepared toexplain how these social structures or practices are ultimately related to the Ecotopian commitment tosustainability and environmental health.B) One main reason I included Potiki in the reading for this course was to think about how people’s attitudes
toward the natural environment are shaped by the communities and cultures they inhabit and vice versa (howspecific natural environments influence the culture of the communities that live there).  Be prepared to explainhow this is true for the Maori community in this novel as well as other people and places we have read about.
