There are an increasing number of school districts adopting “zero-tolerance” policies. Many educators support the implementation of these policies, while others are adamantly opposed. Read the U.S.A. Today article, “Zero-Tolerance Policies Lack Flexibility” and the California Department of Education’s “Rationale for Establishing Zero Tolerance Policies”.   For this discussion, you will be assigned to a debate group and will briefly debate the validity of one side of this controversy.  Argue against zero-tolerance policies in schools. Develop an argument that supports your assigned group’s stance and aligns the policy (or absence of a policy) with the impact on teaching.
